“Mogadishu – Interior of the Giama mosque”, circa 1901 (from an Italian magazine). Any comments?
From page 15 of “Mogadishu: Pearl of the Indian Ocean” (pdf copy here)
Italian translates as “Caravan in formation in front of the Customs” The large white building with three windows on its top left, appears on multiple photos on this website.
Approximate location on Google Maps The area where the camels are was subsequently built over, I think. It opened out to the beach on the right.
Looking towards Fakr ad-Din Mosque in the centre, between two new Italian buildings. With Hamar Weyne (Amaruini) behind.
