See the ruins of the Garesa on Google Maps, in the centre of the picture

A representative of the Sultanate of Oman, and later on the Sultanate of Zanzibar, was based here in the 19th century.

    adding to what it is alredy commented it was well known as the sayid barqash building, and it was made the somali museuem. it is next to what in the sixties use to be the municipality of mogadishu later to domilish and establish a new modern five star hotel by the name hotel uruba all are at the sea shore and next to arba’a rukun mosque, and the cathedral church.
